The 12GO 97056 FV215 Heavy Tank Destroyer recreates one of Britain’s most ambitious post-war armored vehicle concepts. Designed around the enormous 183mm L4A1 gun, the real FV215 project was intended to confront a new generation of Soviet heavy tanks—but it never entered production.
Now rebuilt as a substantial 2,165+ piece collector model, this 1:28-scale set combines an imposing rear-mounted turret, layered internal construction, removable armor sections, functional suspension, and an adjustable main gun.
Britain’s Abandoned 183mm Giant
The FV215 was conceived as a purpose-built heavy gun vehicle capable of carrying Britain’s massive 183mm L4A1 cannon.
The project was cancelled before entering production, leaving the FV215 as one of the most fascinating “what-if” vehicles of the early Cold War—and an unusual subject for serious military model collectors.
